Civil Specialist, Project Developer

Civil Specialist, Project Developer will mainly drive the project’s development lifecycle from origination to completion, directing the gathering of information from multiple sources and ensuring that all stakeholders remain updated and aligned. As a Civil Specialist it is also important to support multiple projects in terms of civil design from conceptual to construction design. This is a hands-on position which will require a high attention to details, superior communication skills, and the ability to work within a cross-functional team of professionals.

 

 

What are the primary responsibilities?

  • Spearhead the development cycle through the various stages and processes from origination through project closeout into Asset Management
  • Provide the expert knowledge and advice planning the conceptual design of the wind farm and develop the design as necessary for relevant permit application.
  • Provide quantity surveying by material take-off and cost estimation of civil construction work.
  • Review and optimize 3rd party’s civil design and develop the details according to company’s standard and/or WTG supplier’s requirements.
  • Assess the civil constructability of potential greenfield site based on site survey
  • Manage external consultants by defining the scope of work and reviewing the outputs in line with the agreed schedule and budget
  • Be the interface in between internal experts and external consultants
  • Manage multiple project development efforts simultaneously.
  • Oversee the processes of the development like permitting site investigations and stakeholder management
  • Identify key milestones and deadlines and keep track on the overall progress
  • Follow up onchanges in law, regulation, governmental policy and assess the opportunities and risks.
  • Risk assessment and reporting in view of solution finding
  • Propose the relevant development budget and keep track during the development
  • Contribute to the commercial planning and evaluation of the project through providing country specific insights for construction and operation budget assumptions
  • Conduct due diligence on potential project sites, evaluate the project suitability and participate in due diligence review and analysis of various project materials.

 

 

Basic knowledge

  • of soil parameters (to be in charge of understanding and comment on a soil investigation/soil parameters)
  • in concrete technology (to comment and work on foundation construction)
  • road construction (to prepare preliminary design and or comment on the designs given)
  • of quantity surveying
  • of the site construction management and the project coordination

 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be passionate about the renewable energy business
  • 5+ years related experience in civil design/engineering of renewable energy project or similar.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and develop value-added solutions quickly and accurately
  • Track-record of leading teams to support energy or other infrastructure projects
  • Outstanding organizational and people skills
  • Understanding of engineering and renewable energy systems
